Sales Navigator Core vs Advanced: What the Upgrade Buys You

Core is a better search bar. Advanced is a team prospecting system. The difference is TeamLink, Smart Links and shared lists.

Updated September 2026 5 minute readPrimary topic: sales navigator core vs advanced

Core and Advanced share the same search engine and the same filters. What Advanced adds is everything that makes prospecting a team activity rather than an individual one.

TeamLink is the underrated feature

TeamLink surfaces which of your colleagues is already connected to a target account. On a cold list, a warm path through a colleague materially improves reply rates compared with a cold InMail — and Core simply cannot see those paths.

Smart Links tell you who actually read the deck

Smart Links host a document behind a trackable link and report who opened it, how long they spent, and which pages they viewed. That turns a follow-up guess into a prioritised list.

Who should pick which

  • Solo founder or single rep, no shared network to leverage → Core.
  • Two or more people selling into overlapping accounts → Advanced, for TeamLink and shared lists alone.
  • Managers who need visibility into rep activity → Advanced.
  • Enterprise needing CRM write-back and data validation → Advanced Plus.

Cost of the upgrade

At list pricing, Advanced carries a meaningful premium over Core. Through our deal, an Advanced seat is $285 for twelve months — which for most teams lands below what they were paying for Core at list price.
